Hello everyone! I’ve been stressed about today’s newsletter for a few months now. Today is the last day of having brand new daily diary comics to share. When I decided to wrap up the daily comic it was with the goal of being able to explore art that is more time intensive. Of course this means that I won’t have something to share weekly, hence the stress. However, I have a plan.
The plan going forward for now is to show off what improvement can occur during ten years of comic drawing. Instead of seven comics, I’ll be sharing 10 comics at a time. 10 comics from the same day, ideally the same day that the newsletter is mailed out, over the last 10 years. I thought it would be neat to see what was happening on that day for a decade.
Additionally, when I have a longer form project to share, I will do that instead. I don’t know what the future will hold artistically, but I hope you’ll join me for the ride!
A Few Obsessions From This Week
Becca Hall’s sketchbooks are so playful! I wish I could live in some of her landscapes and pet all the animals she draws.
Connor and I were in Washington state for a friend’s wedding and stopped by Henderson Books in Bellingham. Oh my goodness! If you ever get a chance to stop by, you should. It is a bookshop stuffed to the gills with books on every topic. I left with a pile, including Mother Bruce, a book about a bear who just wanted to eat dinner but inadvertently becomes a mother.

10 years is a long project, don't forget to be gentle with yourself if you need some time <3
Also, the 10 comics from across the years sounds like a really cool idea : D
